One person died and 10 others were injured today in a stampede at the police recruitment camp at the Kalina police camp in Mumbai when candidates rushed in to lodge their job applications, a senior officer said. Around 30,000 people had gathered outside the camp, which is also the regional base for crack anti-terrorism commando troops, in the hope of securing one of the 3,300 constable post vacancies in the force.
