A Commando of the Assam police looking at the abandoned house at Jadgol in Sonapur on Sunday, 13 December 2009. Six people, belonging to a single family, were hacked to death at Jagdol in Sonapur on the outskirts of Guwahati on Saturday 12 Dec night. The deceased have been identified as Harakanta Doloi, Swapna Doloi, Savita Doloi, Atul Doloi, Pratibha Doloi and Tukul Doloi.The bodies of Harakanta Doloi, his wife Swapna Doloi, their two daughters Savita Doloi and Pratibha Doloi and six-year-old Atul Doloi and nephew Tukul Doloi were found inside hut. Police are also not ruling out superstitious beliefs as the likely cause of the murders.
