Aging Hajra has been fighting a long battle against the government asking it to disclose the whereabouts of her two sons who allegedly disappeared in custody. The Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) hold such silent sit ins on 10th of every month demanding that the government make the whereabouts of the disappeared public. Independent estimates put the number of people who have disappeared in the last two decades in Kashmir at 8000.
