Security move started in valley while Central Reserve Police Forces demolish post in the heart of Srinagar city on Tuesday, 05 October 2010. Authorities in Kashmir will free jailed protesters and reduce the number of checkpoints in the main city Srinagar, a senior security official said last week. The move was part of a Central government initiative to defuse tension in Kashmir, which has been in a siege-like state of strikes, protests and curfew for months.
